Australia is vast! There are so many different regions to assist in harvesting and farm work that the mind boggles. Check out the harvest map to see what is growing and harvested around Australia to see where you can assist.

The fact is, we do this for you! We are fellow fruit pickers and farm-hands and we built this website because we got sick of scouring the internet searching for what farms are hiring, what produce is in season in which area (and Australia is a big country!) and where you can find accommodation.
It's already stressful enough for seasonal workers when you're repositioning, transitioning from place to place, arranging visas and finding farms in need of assistance, so we decided to put together a website to assist people in finding out what grows where, great farms to work at and accommodation options.

My partner and I were living in the Philippines and were essentially running out of money, so we decided to return to my home country of Australia to look for some "odd" work here and there. We decided to look at fruit picking as I had previously worked on farms around 25 years ago (predominantly flower farms growing gerberas and proteas) and I had experience picking raspberries, red and black currants and blackberries.
As part of our research into where to work, we found that there was realistically very little information in Australia on what grows where and the different seasons each type of produce is harvested, so we decided to create the Orchard Report in an effort to consolidate some of this information into a centralised location for people that would like to "follow the sun" and live a more rural, farm-based lifestyle that follows the seasons and agricultural cycle.
Around Australia there are many different types of produce grown through the calendar year. Following are a list of the different produce types and where you can find them in Australia. Certain areas produce some of Australia's favourites, such as grapes, mangoes, peaches, apples, pears and bananas as the staples, though there are also many different and more exotic types of produce created each year, some at large-scale commercial operations and others at boutique hobby farms.

If you need our assistance with placement we can provide you with our Job Hunter services. For a nominal fee per month, we will hunt specific jobs for you in the areas and produce type you choose and provide you with tailored job offerings based on your skillset. Of course, you realise we cannot promise a job though we can do the legwork when it comes to seeking out suitable farms based on your skillset.
